About Boti Kebab (Lucknowi)
Chunky marinated mutton cubes grilled tandoor-style — Lucknow night-bazaar staple.
How to Make Boti Kebab (Lucknowi) – Traditional & Healthy Version
Boti Kebab (Lucknowi) is a classic North Indian non-vegetarian snack, celebrated for its melt-in-the-mouth texture and aromatic spices. Originating from the royal kitchens of Awadh, this kebab is a testament to the region's legendary culinary finesse. Each bite offers a burst of smoky, earthy flavors from carefully marinated mutton pieces, grilled to perfection over a tandoor or tawa. Boti Kebab is not just a treat for the taste buds but also holds a special place in Indian gatherings, especially during Eid and festive occasions in Lucknow. The unique marinade—combining hung curd (dahi), ginger-garlic paste (adrak-lehsun), and warm spices—imparts tenderness and a signature Lucknowi aroma. This healthy adaptation uses lean mutton, minimal oil, and Greek yogurt for a lighter yet authentic experience, making it ideal for calorie-conscious food lovers. Enjoying Boti Kebab is like savoring a piece of India’s rich Nawabi heritage, perfect for family get-togethers, festivals, or as a protein-rich snack.
