Easy

Cornflakes Mixture is a delightful Indian snack that combines crunchy cornflakes with roasted nuts, spices, and a medley of regional ingredients. Popular across India, especially during festive seasons like Diwali and Holi, this mixture is often enjoyed as a light lunch or tea-time snack. The dish has roots in traditional 'namkeen' culture, where homemade snacks are prepared for guests and family gatherings. Unlike deep-fried mixtures, this healthy version uses minimal oil, making it ideal for calorie-conscious individuals. The taste is a harmonious blend of sweet, spicy, and tangy notes, thanks to the addition of raisins, curry leaves (kadi patta), and a gentle sprinkling of chat masala. Cornflakes Mixture's versatility allows for customization with locally available ingredients such as roasted peanuts (moongphali), cashews (kaju), and sev. Whether served during festivals or as a quick lunchbox snack, its irresistible crunch and vibrant flavors make it a favorite across households from Gujarat to Maharashtra. Easy to prepare and store, this mixture is a great alternative to oily snacks, offering both convenience and taste rooted in Indian culinary tradition.
