How to Make Spicy Paneer Roast (Traditional & Healthy Version)
Spicy Paneer Roast is a vibrant and flavorful South Indian lunch dish, celebrated for its fiery masala and succulent paneer cubes. Originating from the southern states like Tamil Nadu and Kerala, this recipe is a staple in vegetarian households and is often enjoyed during festive lunches or as a special Sunday meal. The dish features soft paneer (Indian cottage cheese) marinated in a rich blend of spices such as red chilli powder, black pepper, and garam masala, then roasted on a tawa (griddle) with minimal oil. The result is a crispy, aromatic exterior and a soft, melt-in-the-mouth interior. Paneer Roast is a delight for spice lovers and is commonly served alongside steamed rice, jeera rice, or whole wheat rotis. It is frequently prepared during Pongal in Tamil Nadu or Onam Sadhya in Kerala, showcasing the regional love for robust, spicy flavors. With its high protein content and moderate fat, Spicy Paneer Roast is a balanced choice for a healthy Indian lunch. It is easy to prepare, making it a favorite for busy weekdays or festive gatherings. The bold spices and fresh herbs make it a memorable dish that captures the essence of South Indian cuisine.
