Easy

Egg Cigarette Roll is a delightful Indian street food snack that has found its place in modern home kitchens for its convenience and taste. Originating from the creative corners of Indian urban food stalls, this roll is a fusion of classic egg paratha and kathi roll, shaped cylindrically to resemble a 'cigarette,' making it visually appealing and perfect for on-the-go lunches. The recipe uses whole wheat 'atta' for the wrap, making it a healthier alternative to maida-based rolls, and is pan-cooked on a 'tawa' with minimal oil. The filling is a flavorful scramble of eggs, onions, and capsicum, layered with green chutney and fresh salad, providing a burst of Indian masalas and freshness in every bite. Egg Cigarette Rolls are an excellent choice for lunch, especially for those looking for a protein-rich, quick, and wholesome meal. They are often enjoyed during busy weekdays, packed in tiffin boxes for school or office, and are a popular choice during festivals like Holi and Eid for their easy preparation and crowd-pleasing taste. The cylindrical shape not only makes them fun to eat but also ideal for portion control, aligning well with calorie-conscious diets. The fusion of spices, soft eggs, and crisp veggies wrapped in warm atta parathas delivers a satisfying meal that resonates with Indian palates across regions.
