Easy

Chocos Multigrain Energy Bar is a modern Indian snack that blends the traditional love for wholesome grains with the convenience of a portable bar. Inspired by Indian mithai and energy bites like ladoo, this bar features a nutritious blend of whole grains, jaggery (gud), nuts, and seeds, making it both delicious and energizing. The use of chocos—a crunchy wheat-based breakfast cereal—adds a delightful texture that appeals to all age groups, especially kids. In India, energy bars are becoming popular as quick snacks for busy mornings, school tiffin, or pre/post-workout bites. By combining locally available grains like atta (whole wheat flour), oats, and millets with the natural sweetness of honey and dried fruits, this recipe honors the Indian tradition of using power-packed ingredients. Chocos Multigrain Energy Bars are perfect for festivals like Makar Sankranti or Lohri, where healthy snacks are cherished. Not only do they satisfy sweet cravings, but they also provide sustained energy, making them a great choice for lunch or anytime you need a nutritious boost.

Ingredients(for 1 large energy bar (approx. 50g each))

  • 1/2 cup Chocos cereal (wheat-based chocos)
  • 1/2 cup Oats (rolled or instant)
  • 1/4 cup Atta (whole wheat flour) (finely sieved)
  • 1/4 cup Mixed millets flour (bajra, ragi, or jowar)
  • 1/4 cup Jaggery (gud) (grated)
  • 2 tbsp Honey
  • 2 tbsp Mixed seeds (pumpkin, sunflower, chia)
  • 2 tbsp Chopped almonds (badam)
  • 1 tbsp Chopped cashews (kaju)
  • 1 tbsp Ghee (clarified butter)
  • 2 tbsp Dried cranberries or raisins (kishmish) - optional
  • 1/4 tsp Cardamom powder (elaichi) - optional

Instructions

  1. 1

Dry roast oats, atta, and millet flour in a heavy-bottomed kadhai on low flame until aromatic and lightly golden (about 3-4 minutes). Set aside.

    5 minutes

Keep stirring to avoid burning and ensure even roasting.

  2. 2

In the same kadhai, heat ghee and add grated jaggery. Melt on low flame until it turns into a syrup (do not overcook).

    3 minutes

Switch off the flame once jaggery melts to prevent hardening.

  3. 3

Mix in honey to the melted jaggery and stir well. Quickly add roasted grains, chocos, mixed seeds, chopped nuts, and dried fruits (if using).

    3 minutes

Mix quickly as the jaggery sets fast.

  4. 4

Add cardamom powder for flavor. Mix everything thoroughly using a spatula until ingredients are evenly coated with the syrup.

    1 minute

Work swiftly to ensure even mixing.
