How to Make Chicken Tikka Wrap (Traditional & Healthy Version)
The Chicken Tikka Wrap is a modern twist on the classic Indian chicken tikka, blending the robust flavors of marinated chicken with the convenience of a wrap. Originating from the streets and cafés of India, this fusion dish is popular among urban youth and office-goers for its portability and taste. Chicken marinated in yoghurt and warm spices is grilled on a tawa or skewered, then wrapped in a soft whole wheat 'atta' roti with crunchy vegetables and fresh mint chutney. The wrap reflects India's adaptability in food, making it ideal for lunchboxes, picnics, and festival gatherings like Holi or Diwali. The taste combines spicy, tangy, and smoky notes, making it a favorite for those seeking a healthy, filling meal. Chicken Tikka Wraps have become a staple in many Indian households and restaurants, offering a lighter alternative to traditional curries. Their appeal lies in the fusion of heritage and health—using lean chicken, whole wheat flatbreads, and fresh salad, they support weight-conscious and protein-rich diets. This dish is not only delicious but also celebrates the culinary diversity of India, with regional variations like adding pickled onions or spicy chutneys. Perfect for lunch or a light dinner, the Chicken Tikka Wrap is a delicious, nutritious option that fits the busy Indian lifestyle.

Why This Dish is Healthy
This dish is a healthy choice because it uses lean chicken, low-fat dahi, and whole wheat atta for rotis, ensuring minimum saturated fat and maximum fibre. Fresh vegetables provide micronutrients, and grilling instead of deep-frying significantly reduces calories. It fits well into weight management and diabetic diets, offering sustained energy and fullness.
Chicken Tikka Wraps are rich in protein from chicken and yoghurt, and high in dietary fibre from whole wheat atta. The inclusion of fresh vegetables adds vitamins A and C, minerals, and antioxidants.
