Easy

Chana Chat, a vibrant and tangy Indian chickpea salad, is a beloved street food across India, known for its irresistible blend of flavors and health benefits. This protein-rich dish is especially popular in North Indian states like Delhi, Punjab, and Uttar Pradesh, where it's enjoyed as a quick snack or a light lunch. With its roots deeply embedded in Indian street culture, Chana Chat is often prepared during festivals such as Holi and Diwali, adding color and zest to festive gatherings. The dish brings together boiled chana (chickpeas), fresh vegetables, and a medley of spices, resulting in a zesty, crunchy, and refreshing meal that's as nutritious as it is delicious. The addition of tangy chutneys, chopped onions, tomatoes, and fragrant coriander elevates the taste, while a squeeze of nimbu (lemon) adds brightness. Its popularity lies in its simplicity and versatility—it can be tailored to individual tastes with regional spices and toppings. Chana Chat is a fantastic option for health-conscious individuals, vegetarians, and anyone seeking an authentic Indian lunch that's both filling and low in fat.
