How to Make Abc Salad (Traditional & Healthy Version)
Abc Salad is a vibrant, nutritious Indian vegetarian salad that beautifully combines seasonal vegetables, legumes, and a zesty masala dressing. Popular across India, especially as a light lunch or a festive side, this salad is known for its freshness and delightful texture. Its roots can be traced to the modern Indian kitchen, where fusion salads have become a staple for health-conscious families. The distinct use of Indian spices like jeera (cumin), kala namak (black salt), and fresh nimbu (lemon) brings out authentic street-style flavors, making it a favorite during summer months and festivals like Navratri and Holi. Abc Salad is a versatile dish that adapts beautifully to regional preferences—some add sprouted moong for extra protein, while others incorporate locally available greens. Its crunch from fresh veggies, earthiness from chana, and zing from the tangy dressing make it both satisfying and guilt-free. Whether served as a standalone lunch or as part of a festive thali, Abc Salad celebrates the bounty of Indian produce while supporting a healthy lifestyle.
