How to Make Thor Chenchki (Traditional & Healthy Version)
Thor Chenchki is a cherished vegetarian curry from the heart of Bengal, India. Rooted deeply in Bengali homes, this dish celebrates the unique flavor of 'thor', or banana stem, which is revered for its health benefits and subtle taste. Thor Chenchki is a light, stir-fried curry known for its delicate spices and minimal oil usage, making it a superb choice for calorie-conscious food lovers. Commonly enjoyed during summer months, thor is believed to have cooling properties, perfect for beating the Indian heat. This curry is a staple during fasting days and is often prepared during festivals like Poila Boishakh (Bengali New Year) when families come together for wholesome, vegetarian feasts.
